tick flitwick 10k tock

what’s there not to enjoy
at the start of…

flitwick02-01

one of the many
and yes
they are numerous
joys of running
is finding yourself
in a localle
where simply you wouldn’t have been
had it not been
for the run or race

places previously unconnected to
the becomings of
new attachments

this time Flitwick

nestled between Luton
and Bedford
a picturesque host
to a single lap 10k
‘undulating’
just don’t think gentle
challenging
and another dose of
yes

flitwick_o-02

i’ve always thought about
my running
in reflection
to the younger days
yes, even the quicker…
but
no longer
thanks to the
Berkhamsted’s
and
Flitwick’s
of the recent

after such a long period out
25 years…..
i’ve lived a life
in that memory of
those moments
those lessons
those experiences
ran

but its the return now
the last eighteen months
not knowing
will one
sustain
or not

the losing of the stones
the inching forward
then
the runs of today
simply are
the most…
in all
ways

Flitwick an abbreviation
an echo
of Berkhamsted’s half

the rise and falls
rising
falling
punctuating tempo
rhythm

a chorus rang
from marshalls
as each 1k elapsed
‘dig in, work together’
just
brilliant

en route back
sat on platform
unaware of ‘that’ time
somehow a finishing clock evades an eye
a watch always overan ever so slightly
switch
time invisable
until
well until
well, just well…

well that time on platform
42:01
surely not
becomes official
41:55

its been quite a journey these
past eighteen months

and these legs
just beginning
a sense
tick
tock
